Dr. Margaret Lee

Executive Director & Founder

Dr. Lee was born in Los Angeles and has 15+ years of experience as a Veterinarian. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine at UC Davis and did a small animal multi-disciplinary internship at Cornell.

“All animals deserve a chance to be given quality veterinary care. This is something I’ve always been passionate about,” explains Dr. Lee.

Dr. Lee utilized her experience, empathetic nature, credentials, and passion to create Veterinary Rescue Alliance.

Dr. Jessica Stewart

Assistant Director & Creative Director

Dr. Stewart, a California native, has 7+ years experience practicing as a small animal veterinarian and 25+ years of animal handling & training experience.  Throughout her career in humane society’s and shelters, she has seen too many animals not receive the high quality care they need.  Dr. Stewart has a shared passion with Dr. Margaret Lee and has committed herself to the development and integration of The Veterinary Rescue Alliance.  She received her doctorate from Western University of Health Sciences, and her masters in Public Health from The University of Minnesota.

Dr. Stewart has a variety of experiences - she has worked for general medicine small animal practices, emergency 24/7 hospitals, specialty hospitals, humane society's, shelters, and the federal government (USDA). She also loves coaching, mentoring, and teaching.
